Integrated Resourced Provision - With access to Mainstream School
Hoyland Springwood Primary’s Resourced Provision that is set up in the school building is for pupils with Autism and Communication Interaction difficulties.
We have 15 places for children with ASD under the Resourced Provision umbrella and our children either work:
* In their mainstream class and additional curriculum activities specific to the child’s needs are offered by a team of trained support staff
or
* work 1:1, in small group activities or whole class lessons in the specifically designed resource classroom that is part of the main school building
They are all able to access the national curriculum whilst their Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) targets addresses their specific impairments.
We believe
All children have the right to access the same opportunities as their peers and benefit from the modelling that takes place in a mainstream setting. Our aim is to provide a positive and enjoyable school experience in which our pupils can learn, and to enable them to benefit from a mainstream school as well as providing specialist input relevant to each child’s needs as a young person with autism. We celebrate the talents and achievements of our children and aim to create a calm and happy atmosphere for them.
What we do
We provide high quality staff who are well trained to meet the exceptional needs of the children.
We provide structures that help with the organisation and making sense of what can be a very confusing world, and carefully planned targets and activities to reduce anxiety.

Admissions
For a child to gain a place in the Resource Provision they will need to have an annual review in line with the Local authority policy and SEN Code of practice and within this Specialist provision will need to be requested. This will then be considered by the Local Authority ORG panel which will then decide on future placements for children. Applying for the mainstream school will not automatically grant your child a place or mean that your child can transfer to the provision. The provision caters for all children across Barnsley and is subject to a consultation visit/ review by the SENCO.
