We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to work within the mainstream resourced provision in school and ideally someone who has experience of working with children with special educational needs.

You will need to be well motivated, tenacious and be confident enough to use your own initiative when the need arises. In addition, you must have a firm but fair manner and a genuine desire to support the individual development of the children with whom you work. You will be expected to uphold all the school’s policies and procedures, paying particular attention to the positive behaviour and reward strategies. Experience of working with children with special educational needs, including those with complex communication & interaction needs is desirable. A willingness and ability to follow the direction of the Teacher in Charge of the Resourced Provision and other senior staff and to follow particular programmes for individual children would be an essential requirement.

- Relevant experience working with school-age children
- Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
- The ability to use basic technology to support teaching & learning
- A minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Maths, or a willingness to gain these during the period of employment
- Willingness to undertake training related to the role, including first aid training
- A positive attitude and a desire to work as a member of a team.
