The Teaching of RSHE
Our PSHE and RSHE Leader is Mrs Rachel Parker
Relationships and Sex Education (RSHE) at Hoyland Springwood
We deliver our Relationships, Health and Sex Education aspect of the curriculum through out PHCE offer and it is fully integrated into our schools PSHE policy and the schools progression documentation. This subject is designed to equip our children with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, health and relationships as well as preparing them for a successful adult life.
Relationships Education puts in place the building blocks needed for positive and safe relationships, including with family, friends and online, learning how to treat each other with kindness, consideration and respect. Our children are taught what a relationship is, what friendship is, what family means and who can support them.
Health Education aims to give our children the information they need to make good decisions about their own health and wellbeing, to recognise issues in themselves and others, and to seek support as early as possible when issues arise.
All aspects of RSHE are taught systematically in lessons, through assemblies which all pupils enjoy and through the culture and values within our schools which permeate throughout the school day. Children are taught to treat one another with kindness, respect and tolerance; to be thoughtful and reflective members of the school community and to work hard and do their best.
